PACE monitoring committee consisted of PACE Deputy Chairman Hanne Severinsen and Chief of PACE Special Committee Renata Volvend welcomed the efforts of Ukrainian power aimed at commitment of the obligations of Ukraine as a member of the Council of Europe, the PACE reporters told at the meeting with Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk.

Taking the floor at the meeting, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Tarasyuk informed the mission members about current domestic political situation and external political initiations of Ukraine within the regional context. The PACE members were interested in Ukraine’s standpoint on the Transdniestrian settlement and other questions.

PACE mission was given the full information concerning the election campaign and particularly Exterior Ministry activity on the eve of the parliamentary election in March.

Ukraine Foreign Minister Tarasyuk thanked PACE representatives for their contribution to the constructive cooperation Ukraine and the Council of Europe, which is one of the most authoritative international organization protecting democracy and people’s right. He assured the European parliamentarians of reliable partnership and friendship of Ukraine.
