Victor Yushchenko met with Latvian parliament speaker Ingrida Udre. He remarked that Ukrainian-Latvian relations were dynamically developing and said he was particularly pleased with “a very intensive dialogue” between the presidents.

“We feel your understanding and support, which Ukraine needs to integrate into the EU and NATO,” he said, President's press office reported.

The Head of State also pointed out that the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation had positively affected our bilateral relations. Then the sides discussed ways to forge closer economic ties between Ukraine and Latvia.

Ukraine’s Deputy Speaker Adam Martynyuk and Latvian Ambassador Andris Vilcans attended the meeting.
