Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Baranivsky and his Russian counterpart Aleksey Gordeyev determined February 16 as a date for signing documents, which settle the problem with Russian ban on import of Ukrainian cattle breeding production to Russia.
Chairman of Russian Union of Industrials and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin considers that it has not gone without politics in the situation with ban on import of Ukrainian production.
“I’m not a specialist in sanitation and veterinary inspection, but trade wars are often used for attaining mutual concessions in other questions. It can be avoided by creation of apolitical Ukrainian-Russian trade relations. But is such approach possible under conditions of election campaign in Ukraine? I don’t want it to be like this: Russia lays down its demands on gas, Ukraine refuses BSF the lighthouses, Russia, in response, imposes ban on Ukrainian production. Ukraine can invent something else and it may come to a scuffle, I hope only economic one. This is a bad job,” declared Shokhin, LIGA informed.
