Commenting on the parliament’s veto of President’s draft bill “On Access of Foreign Armed Forces to Ukraine for participation in the multinational military exercises,” Defence Minister Hrytsenko stressed that such action may damage Ukraine’s image within the international military cooperation.
He submitted the draft bill providing the legal basis for the military exercise with the foreign military divisions participating in it in the territory of Ukraine.
“It is very difficult for the army not practicing in the war operations to maintain its military efficiency and the only way for such army is to conduct the military exercises,” noted the Minister.
“It is very advantageously for Ukraine because it will create new battle opportunities for our country. It is economically profitable for Ukraine because the lion’s share of the expenses is paid by the foreign countries,” stressed Hrytsenko.
He also reminded that the main target of the exercises is humanitarian, searching, and peacekeeping rescue operations.
