Ukrainian delegation headed by Valery Pyatnitsky the Deputy Economy Minister takes part in two-day session of the European Commission in Brussels.
The aim of the visit is to consider the further action of Ukraine towards the WTO membership. The EU-Ukraine Action Plan is to be discussed, too.
Earlier, Pyatnitsky told Ukraine would have finished bilateral negotiations with the countries-members of the Working Group considering Ukraine’s application for the WTO membership by the end of March, 2006. The Working Group plans to meet for discussion in March. Some of informal documents will be considered within the first half of a year. At the same time the WTO Secretariat may launch its work on consolidation of the bilateral agreement signed by Ukraine.
According to his words, the basic part of the legislative documents concerning the WTO has been already set.
He also mentioned that in case Verkhovna Rada ratifies the agreement on the WTO membership, Ukraine will have to bring the legislative and legal texts into accord with this document.
