Ukraine and Romania has established high-level joint commission “Yushchenko-Basesku”. Following Ukrainian-Romanian negotiations at Mariinsky Palace, Victor Yushchenko and Traian Basescu signed the protocol, ForUm’s correspondent informed.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk and his Romanian colleagueRazvan Ungureanu also signed intergovernmental agreement on Ukrainian-Romanian border check-points. As Ukraine’s President declared on joint press conference with Traian Basescu, with the framework of the commission it will be formed security and humanitarian committees, committees of regional development and “a committee, charged with delimitation of continental shelf.”
In his turn, Romania’s President noted that the commission will be charged not only with solving the problems inherited from the Soviet Union, but with forming firm construction for future bilateral relations.
