Mother of the journalist Georgiy Gongadze, Lesya Gongadze declares that investigation materials concerning murder of her son do not contain state secret, but Ukrainian authorities are afraid of open legal proceedings.

“The hearing is being conducted in close regime, as high officials, involved into the case, want to avoid publicity,” said Gongadze in an interview to “Deutsche Welle”.

She also noted that as an offended party she has an access to all documents, and there is not a single one with a “state secret” stamp.

“In fact, there have been held 4 court hearings and a lot of people are involved: judges, lawyers, journalists; society is waiting for information from Mass Medias, but still there is no result,” noted Gongadze.
