In his interview to Delo newspaper Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary US Ambassador John E. Herbst touches upon the very pressing issues of Ukrainian present-day reality. There is one question regarding the visa regime, Mr. Herbst mentioned the increase number of American visitors after Ukraine has abolished the visa-regime for the US and European citizens. It provided reliable basis for relations between Ukrainian and American businessmen. The gradual improvement of the investment climate attracts the foreign investors, Mr. Herbst told.
Americans are interested in Ukrainian industrial economics, metallurgy, the food industry, oil and gas production and the service sphere, Mr. Herbst added.
Regarding the regular statements made by PM Yekhanurov containing the date of US accordance of the market economy status for Ukraine, US Ambassador states official Washington considers the issue and, possibly, the decision will be made in February.
