January 23 Victor Yushchenko met with Daniel Fried, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, presdiential press office informed.
They discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy. The Head of State particularly said he expected the United States to help Ukraine formulate an energy saving concept.
The sides also discussed trade and economic issues. Mr. Fried assured his vis-à-vis that they were actively preparing to sign a bilateral protocol Ukraine needs to join the WTO.
