As a result of negotiations between Gazprom President Aleksey Miller and Uzbekistan’s President Islam Karimov, the sides agreed that Uzbekistan would deliver nine milliard cu m of gas to Russian at the price of $60 for 1000 cu m in 2006.
According to agreements between Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrainy of January 4, 2006, this volume of gas will be sold to Ukraine at $95 for 1000 cu m through the mediation of Swiss trader RosUkrEnergo.
Deducting transportation expenses via territory of Kazakhstan and Russia, clear margin of the mediator will make about $20 from each 1000 cu m, i.e. RosUkrEnergo will earn about 180 million dollars by delivering Uzbek gas to Ukraine.
