The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a resolution about dismissal of Minister for Fuel and Energy Ivan Plachkov and Minister of Justice Serhiy Holovaty. Parliamentarians also passed a vote of no confidence in President of Naftogaz Ukrainy Oleksiy Ivchenko. 246 out of 358 deputies voted for resolution about inexpert actions of executive power on providing Ukraine’s consumers with natural gas.

The VR also charged Account Chamber with a job of conducting complex examination of financial and economic activity of Naftogaz Ukrainy for the period of 2004-2005 and in 2006, and also relations between Naftogaz and RosUkrEnergo.

The parliament recommends General Office of Public Prosecutor to examine and estimate the gas agreement and actions of officials, who took part in agreement’s preparing and signing.

The VR also recommends Cabinet of Ministers to appoint immediately new staff of supervisory board of Naftogaz for strengthening control over Company’s activity, to adjust relations with Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan concerning gas supply to Ukraine.

VR deputies excluded from the resolution the item, which provides for “to consider the agreement of January 4 between Naftogaz Ukrainy, Gazprom and RosUkrEnergo contrary to the existing legislation and contrary to State interests.”
