Desnyanskyi court of Kyiv city complied the claim of Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn to ex-Major of the State Defense Mykola Melnychenko of protection of dignity and honor. The court obliged Melnychenko to excuse.
According to the information source, the Court declared Melnuchenko’s statements about the speaker’s connection to Gongadze’s murder to be groundless.
The court resolution noted that the defendant was absent at the court hearings. The subpoenas for Melnichenko were sent back to the court, as it failed to be handed to him.
The Court also invited Melnychenko to take part in the proceeding by means of “Holos Ukrainy” newspaper.
The Court obliged Melnychenko to disapprove the contrary fact of Lytvyn and to excuse for moral damage. Melnychenko was obliged to pay court fees in amount of UAH17.
