In an interview to Ukraine’s leading television channels, Victor Yushchenko said he intends to conduct a plebiscite to ask the electorate to either accept or reject constitutional changes allowing the next parliament to select a Premier and ministers.
The President reiterated that “these changes were passed illegally” and the people were not aware of their meaning, presidential press office reported.
He said finding legitimate ways to solve the problem was quite topical for society. The Head of Stateexpects the plebiscite to be “a fair way to achieve harmony” and pledged to observe the law.
