Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common
Foreign and Security Policy and Secretary-General of the Council of the
European Union, telephoned Victor Yushchenko to learn how the recent
parliamentary resolution to sack the Cabinet had affected the country.
He assured the President that the European community supported
Ukrainian government in its desire to stabilize the situation and
introduce reforms.
He also congratulated the Head of State on successfully completing Ukrainian-Russian gas talks.
