In an interview for Ukraine’s leading television channels, Victor Yushchenko said he wanted Ukraine to cooperate with countries of Central Asia in the energy sector, presidential press office reported.
“We should all understand that Central Asian countries obviously strive to enter Europe’s energy market. The shortest way to these countries lies across Ukraine,” he said.
The President opined that this region would play an important role in the world’s energy market in the near future and added that building relations with these countries was one of the priorities for our energy executives.
“I really do not want Ukraine to miss this chance,” he said.
