Along with leaders of Afghanistan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Croatia and Russia, Victor Yushchenko took part in an inauguration ceremony of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana, presidential press office reported.
Sergei Ordzhonikidze, Director-General by the UNO Secretary-General, Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, OSCE Secretary-General, Vladimir Rushailo, NIS Executive Secretary, Jan Kubish,Special Envoy of the European Union for Central Asia, and other politicians from more than seventy countries attended the ceremony.
Following the inauguration ceremony Victor Yushchenko met with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The Head of State congratulated his counterpart on being officially sworn in. Then they discussed cooperation between the countries in the energy sector and broached the subject of elections.
