The Ukrainian copy of the Turin Shroud of Christ is being exhibited in St. Resurrection Cathedral in Ivano-Frankivsk.

According to UNIAN, it was brought from Lviv, where it was exhibited in St.Yura Cathedral  January 9. Bishop of the Ivano-Frankivsk eparchy of the Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church Volodymyr Viytyshyn disclosed to a press conference that the Shroud will be exhibited in the city during January 10-20.

This is the eighth world copy of the Turin Shroud, which belongs to Ukraine. It was blessed by former Rome Pope John Paul II, and consecrated by current Rome Pope Benedict XVI. Benedict XVI addressed the Ukrainian delegation in Rome and stated his desire to involve the entire Ukrainian nation in taking look at it. Several copies of the Shroud are to be made for exhibiting in other Ukrainian cities.

After exhibiting in Ivano-Frankivsk, the Shroud of Christ will be brought in Kyiv.
