Svoboda Union calls to boycott Russian goods

Activists of all-Ukrainian union Svoboda (Freedom – ed.) are picketing the Russian Embassy in Odesa in order to express their protest against “Gas Racket of Russia” and their urge to “Protect the sovereignty of Ukraine,” Hotline News reported.

Participants of the action delivered a letter to the ambassador of Russia to Ukraine, which says that the gas policy practiced by Russia at the present moment in regard to Ukraine would have tragic consequences in the future.

Authors of the letter call all the patriots of the region to form a “consolidation.”

In the opinion of Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the regional organization of Svoboda union, the current gas crisis is related to the parliamentary elections 2006 to take place in Ukraine soon.

Pavlo Kyrylenko is confident that in such a way Russia tries to make Ukraine kneel and accept the coming to power of the pro-Kuchma forces.

The union Svoboda announced its initiative to carry out an information campaign in order to urge the inhabitants of the region to join the boycott on Russian goods imported to Ukraine.

Activists of the union also protest against anti-Ukrainian programs broadcasted by the Russian Mass Media. They consider the behavior of Russian Mass Media a demonstration of war against Ukrainians.
