Victor Yushchenko had a telephone conversation with Poland President

Victor Yushchenko had a telephone conversation with Poland President Lech Kaczynski. He congratulated his colleague on first days in office and wished him success. The Head of State said he hoped the countries would preserve good relations and improve them in the future by implementing all promising projects. The sides discussed bilateral economic relations and regional cooperation in the energy sector. Yushchenko and Kaczynski also spoke about the situation over the transit of Russian gas to Europe.

Yushchenko invited his Polish counterpart to visit Ukraine in February 2006, the President's press office reported.
