Ukraine is ready to pay $80 per 1,000 cubic metres of Russian gas and to get $1.75 for the transit, Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov told.
Taking the floor in the round-table discussion on energy problems, Minister Plachkov mentioned that the scheme of switch to the market relations between Naftogaz and Gazprom must be elaborated in the first quarter of the next year. This process must be completed before 2009, Defence Minister Plachkov.
The gas transport system of Ukraine is not ready now for the market relations because the gas metres are set only on the Ukraine-Europe section of the pipeline and there are not any metres on Ukraine-Russian frontier.
