Gazprom will appeal to Stockholm Court if Ukraine illegally withdraws gas from the export volume for Europe, Gazprom Vice-President Alexandr Medvedev told.

“We are ready to appeal to Swiss court if Ukraine does it. But actually it is the last thing to do – to appeal to arbitration. But if Ukraine is ready we are ready, too,” said he in the interview to the 1 Channel.

Nevertheless, Medvedev reckons that there are some chances to reach agreement with Ukraine.

He stressed that Ukrainian good will is extremely necessary for both parts to agree upon the gas price. “Unfortunately, we have not seen it,” added Medvedev.

In case of the collapse of negotiations, at 10 am, January 1, 2006 Russia will terminate gas supply to Ukraine.
