
According to data opinion poll conducted by the European Commission, 42 percent of citizens of 25 EU countries back Ukraine's membership in the European Union, Cabinet's of Ukraine press office reported.
Eurobarometer is the European Commission Public Opinion Analysis program, which is conducted twice a year. Ukraine is the only CIS nation, which membership was proposed to almost 30,000 respondents to express their attitude toward. And 42 percent of pollees backed Ukraine in it, what is more than for Macedonia, which has recently become a candidate-nation, and for Turkey, which the EU is negotiating with on membership.
Among former soviet countries, which are not the EU members yet , Ukraine is the fourth after Croatia, Bulgaria and Romania, supported in the EU run.
