Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn brought an action against ex-State Guard Mykola Melnichenko, as Lytvyn reported in an interview to “Komersant-Ukraine” newspaper.
“My lawyers have already brought an action. We have appealed to domiciliary court of the defendant, but not of my job place in order nobody will think I am going to make use of my office and press the court,” said Lytvyn.
In response to the question against what exactly he has brought an action, the Speaker declared: “Against everything in general, and against his statement that my “hands are covered with blood” in particular.”
VR Chairman underlined that Melnichenko had arrived in Ukraine “as someone’s trump card in election fight against Lytvyn.”
Speaking about organizers of listening of Kuchma’s cabinet, Lytvyn suggested that they were “high-ranked officials, familiar with specific character of special services’ work.”
