Volodimir Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, considers it inexpedient to cancel immunity of a deputy, as he declared to journalists in Kyrovohrad region during his working visit.

The Speaker noted that he would not vote for the abolition in case a corresponding draft was submitted to the Parliament. According to Lytvyn, every action is based on the principle “everything to allies, law to enemies” now. He considers that there should be some people (deputies), who will be able to tell truth, not being afraid of persecutions.

According to the Speaker’s words, immunity of a deputy can be abolished only when Ukraine becomes a civilized country.
