Rice advises Ukraine to follow South Korea example?

To catch up with the USA in the sphere of economic development Ukraine should take care of economic growth assistance policy instead of heading for fixed standards, as declared Condoleezza Rice in an interview with Ukrainian students in Kyiv.

“I think such policy will be introduced, and you will be puzzled by the fast economic growth of Ukraine,” declared U.S. State Secretary.

She noted that the countries, which are considerably smaller than Ukraine, but play considerable role, could serve as an example to Ukraine in this question. Condoleezza Rice cited South Korea as an example, which, according to Rice, holds the tenth place on rates of economic growth.

“If there is rational economic policy, Ukraine, perhaps, will be able to develop and will find its place in the global economy,” considers U.S. State Secretary. She pointed out that private investors should be given an opportunity to stimulate the economic development.
