On Saturday, Zoryanyi movie theatre hosted VIII Congress Party of Regions. 450 envoys of all regions came to Kyiv and took part in the exceptional congress of the party.
Rinat Akhmetov prominent Ukrainian businessman, ex-Governor Evhen Kushnaryov, Nina Karpacheva Ombudsman of Ukraine, Raisa Bohatyryova member of Verkhovna Rada’s faction, Victor Yanukovich, Vitaly Khomutynnyk and other Ukrainian authorities ad representatives of the civil and political organizations participated in the congress.
The participants passed the election program and approved the Party’s election list. The top ten consists of Victor Yanukovich, Nina Karpacheva, Georgy Skudar, Taras Chornovil, Vyacheslav Bohuslaev, Raisa Bohatyryova, Rinat Akhmetov, Victor Tikhonov, Efym Zvyahilsky, and Borys Kolesnikov. Evhen Kushnaryov was appointed the head of election campaign. The list includes also Vitaly Khomutynnyk, Mykola Azarov, and Andrey Klyuyev. The notorious Prosecutor General of Ukraine Svyatoslav Piskun takes 95th place.
The priorities of the election program are following: to back the development of the national economy, to provide stable social policy, to protect democracy and freedom, to make Russian the second state language, to hold the referendum on NATO and to keep the policy of good neighbourhood.
“We will not let the new government to destroy Ukraine’s economy which has been built by our hands for many years. The chance for Ukraine is the balanced budget policy,” stressed Victor Yanukovich.
