Victor Yushchenko met with Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin in order to formulate a Joint action plan.

The sides discussed ways to settle the Transdniestrian conflict and to transport goods through the Transdniestrian part of our border. Yushchenko informed his counterpart that Ukraine intended to open its consulate in Moldova.

The Presidents said relations between our countries were developing rather dynamically.

They also discussed potential projects the two states could implement within the framework of the newly established Community of Democratic Choice.

“For the first time of our settlements we use a new logic and it lets us solve the conflict with dignity…Taking into consideration Yushchenko’s plan, Moldova has managed to reach the interior unity of political forces,” stressed Voronin.

“I am sure that if we unite our efforts we will effectively reach European criteria of democracy, social development and life-standards,” added Moldova’s President.

He also urged the participants to create GUAM parliamentary assembly, to join the markets into unitary resources in order to adjust themselves to possible entry into the EU or in case of the EU would postpone the entry for the long-range outlook.
