Today the EU-Ukraine Summit launches in Kyiv, the President’s press office told. EU delegation is headed by Britain Premier Tony Blair.

The participants of the summit are to discuss the accomplishment of the EU-Ukraine Action Plan of February 21, 2005, the development of EU-Ukraine relationships and the steps to Euro integration of Ukraine.

It is planned to read the leaders’ joint statement based upon the results of the summit. The statement will consist of evaluation of the cooperation made by the representatives of the countries.

The EU delegation consists of EU HR Javier Solana, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barosso and the Euro Commissioners Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Peter Mandelson.

Ukraine is represented by PM Yuri Yekhanurov and Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk.

The following bilateral documents are planned to be signed: the Memorandum on Understanding in the cooperation in the energy sphere between Ukraine and the EU; the Agreement on Cooperation in Civil Global Navigation Satellite System between Ukraine and the EU; Agreements on some aspects of air communication.

Today President of Ukraine is to meet Tony Blair, Euro Commission President Jose Manuel Barosso and EU HR Javier Solana.
