Victor Yanukovich, leader of Party of Regions, offered businessman Rinat Akhmetov a place in the party list and received the consent.
“On this meeting I proposed Mr. Akhmetov to join Party of Regions and to take part in the parliamentary elections,” said Yanukovich on today’s press conference, ForUm’s correspondent reported.
Yanukovich explained that he “understands very well” how much the party needs the people of such level as Rinat Akhmetov.
“I’ve known him for many years. He started his business before my very eyes. Now it is a very strong successful holding company,” declared Yanukovich.
“He will become the party member and will take part in the elections by the party ticket,” said the leader of Party of Regions about Akhmetov’s intentions.
Besides, Yanukovich informed that the full membership of Party of Regions elections list would become known at the beginning of December. Only 99% of the list are formed for the moment.
