At the Kyiv Opera House, Victor Yushchenko and his wife attended a requiem concert to commemorate victims of genocide famines and political repressions in Ukraine. They listened to Evhen Stankevych’s Requiem for Those Who Starved to Death, performed by the Dumka Choir, the Veryovka Choir, and the National Symphonic Orchestra. Then they listened to Nina Matviyenko, Serhiy Mehera, and violinist Bohdan Krysha. Lidiya Zhyk and Andriy Sereda recited poems by Dmytro Pavlychko. The concert was staged by Vasyl Vovkun.

Prime Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov, Humanitarian Prime Minister Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, and First Deputy Secretariat Chief of Staff Ivan Vasyunyk were present at the concert.
