The forthcoming Summit “Ukraine-EU”, planned for December 1, will literally become “an event of the year” in the international context, as said Oleh Rybachuk, Head of Secretariat of President, during today’s press conference, ForUm’s correspondent reported.
“High level of the delegation speaks about importance of this event. I mean PM of Great Britain Tony Blair, Head of European Commission, and Secretary General of the EU Council Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy,” said Rybachuk.
Ukrainian side expects that during the Summit it will be announced about providing the status of the country with market economy to Ukraine, about support of democratic reforms in Ukraine and about recognizing Ukraine as strategic partner in the sphere of guarantee of peace and security in Europe.
Ukrainian side also hopes to sign a treaty with EU about creation of free trade zone.
Rybachuk reported that the Summit “Ukraine-EU” will be divided into three parts. The first one will be devoted to consideration of internal situation in Ukraine and the EU. The second part will be the discussion of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the European Union, “i.e. the EU will estimate the “Ukraine-EU” Action Plan.”
According to Rybachuk, the third part provides for consideration of international situation in Europe.
