Many citizens of Ukraine regard the results of the forthcoming parliamentary elections without optimism, as declared political scientist Oleksander Lytvynenko during today’s Round table “Political parties of Ukraine to the starting line of elections campaign", ForUm's correspondent informs.

According to him, only 17% of citizens consider that situation in Ukraine will improve following the elections. 10% consider that the situation will worsen and 40% do not think that the situation will change for any.

Besides, Lytvynenko noted that representatives of big business, who influence the political situation in the country, are considered to be the most probable infringers of electoral legislation. 53% of citizens adhere to such opinion.

According to the people, representatives of political parties and blocs will also violate electoral legislation (46% of respondents); 23% consider that the legislation will be violated by local power.

In general, 43% of electorate forecast undemocratic parliamentary elections, and only 10% are certain that the elections will be held honestly and openly.
