Ukrainian Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk met with Council of Europe Secretary General Terry Davis in Strasbourg on Thursday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Vasyl Filipchuk told.
 
The two officials exchanged their opinions on the current state of cooperation between Ukraine and the CE in the context of the 5th Common Program of Cooperation between the Council of Europe and the European Commission for promoting and strengthening democratic stability in Ukraine and the recent Action Plan. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister positively assessed the process of implementation of the projects, which have been envisaged in the Program.

Foreign Minister Tarasyuk briefed Mr. Davis about preparations for the Forum of the Democratic Choice Commonwealth, which is supposed to take place in Kiev on December 2. Terry Davis thanked for invitation and confirmed his participation in it.

Borys Tarasyuk conveyed the Council of Europe Secretary General a letter by President of Ukraine, in which Victor Yushchenko invites Mr. Devis to take part in observing the preparation and holding of the parliamentary election in Ukraine in March 2006.
