Today Vladimir Litvin has held a meeting with John Herbst at the instance of the US Ambassador, the Parliamentary press office reports.
The representatives of two countries shared the views concerning current Ukraine-US relationships and the prospects of the cooperation within the framework of Yekhanurov’s last visit to the USA and the parliamentary elections-2006.
Litvin stressed the necessity of membership in WTO for Ukraine and pledged to do his best in order the WTO draft bills to be passed by the parliament. The Speaker also focused on the budget problems and the new draft bills for the adoption procedure.
The US Ambassador John Herbst expresses a hope the relationship between Ukrainian government and Verkhovna Rada would be sufficient enough for he legislative basis for WTO membership to be formed as soon as possible. According to John Herbst, the WTO membership will contribute much Ukraine’s economy.
Ukraine’s Speaker and the US Ambassador stressed the necessity to join in fighting with the human trafficking.
