Victor Yushchenko signed orders to appoint Volodymyr Kampo, Victor Shyshkin and Dmytro Lylak judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, President's press office reported.

Yesterday, he met with the newly appointed judges. The Head of State has reiterated that he believes the judicial branch should be independent. Yushchenko said he also wants to raise the social status of judges. He believes judicial reforms, which will start next year, will help to address these issues.

The President said he hoped parliamentarians would create all conditions for judges of the Constitutional Court to take their oath in time to start performing their duties.
