Kateryna Yushchenko met with the wife of the French President, Bernadette Chirac, President's press office reported.
The ladies shared their experience in charity. Mrs. Chirac is a president of the Pont Neuf Foundation, which organizes exchange programs between France and East-European countries. It grants scholarships to students majoring in medicine, political studies, and languages. The goal of their programs is to promote the French culture and language and to make the young people appreciate democratic values.
Mrs. Yushchenko and Mrs. Chirac spoke about ways to send Ukrainian students to study in France. They also discussed a humanitarian forum the Ukraine 3000 Foundation and its partners were planning to conduct to mark the 20th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster. By holding this forum the foundation wants to focus on humanitarian aspects of this catastrophe.
Then the Ukrainian President’s wife thanked President Jacque Chirac for his initiatives to fight cancer throughout the world.
