“If Ukraine fails to enter the WTO, the EU will not hold negotiations with Ukraine,” said Head of the European Commission’s Delegation to Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus Ian Boag in the round-table discussion “Euro and Atlantic Choice of Ukraine.”
But he also mentioned progress made by Ukraine in the realization of the EU joint actions plan. “We point out the progress in the development of the democratic institutions, the freedom of mass media and the trade. We are about to start the negotiations on the visa-regime liberation for the citizens of Ukraine and I hope we will manage t sign it,” said Ian Boag.
The Euro Commission Representative reckons the government of Ukraine should improve business climate in Ukraine for foreign investors to make business here. He informed about ?250 million, the sum which will be invested in Ukraine fro the next two years.
Unfortunately for Ukraine, Ian Boag did not call the likely time for the EU to sign the agreement on market status economy for Ukraine.
