People’s deputy Vladimir Tsibul’ko offers Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to set import quotas on printed output, books in particular, as stated in registered draft bill about state import control, defense of competition and consumer rights on the Ukraine’s printed output market.
The draft bill provides to set import quotas on books and to reduce them with the purpose of defense and sale promotion of Ukrainian producers of printed output.
The explanatory note to the document reads that more than 90% of the Ukrainian book market is occupied by import manufacturers, who provides with cheaper output.
At the same time, to avoid deficit in book the draft bill offers long-term program of gradual reduction of import.
