President Victor Yushchenko took part in a ceremony to sign an agreement between Savings Bank and Ukreximbank to found a consortium of state banks.
The agreement was signed by Victor Kapustin, Head of State Export and Import Bank of Ukraine , and Alexander Morozov, Chairman of State Savings Bank of Ukraine.
Then President Yushchenko, Kapustin and Morozov discussed major tasks of the newly founded consortium.
The bankers are convinced that the use of modern banking technologies will make state enterprises function more effectively and help the state optimize management mechanisms.
They plan to start credit programs to promote aircraft-building and house-building, reform the municipal sector andlaunch energy supply projects. They also intend to credit businessmen, construction companies and enterprises that operate in the wholesale energy market.
