Ukraine will withdraw its appeal for hosting Euro-2012 because of problems with reconstruction of Olimpiyskiy National Sport Complex. Such statement was done by the deputy of Ukraine Georgy Surkis. He appealed to the President of Ukraine and Premier Yekhanurov to solve the problem.
The point is that despite the charge of the President’s Secretariat and the Cabinet, the conception of development and reconstruction has not been approved yet, Surkis complained.
“If the problem of reconstruction is not resolved the Football Federation of Football will be obliged to withdraw Ukraine’s application on final of Euro-2012. The Federation will abdicate all responsibility of political component of such step. It may damage international image of Ukraine,” conclude Surkis.
The appeal was backed by 229 deputies of Ukraine.
