At a meeting with journalists representing economic publications, Yushchenko said Ukraine’s WTO membership would greatly improve our welfare and make GDP grow. He reminded all that experts from the Institute of Economic Research and Political Consultations, who analyze potential results of WTO integration, had come to such a conclusion.
Yushchenko said, “When Ukraine joins the WTO, it will qualitatively change its participation in the world market.”
The President reiterated that the World Trade Organization currently had 148 members. Citing the experts, he stressed that our membership would make several economic indices (GDP, export, investment, etc.) considerably increase.
The Head of State stressed that government spared no effort to make the parliament approve necessary bills. He said we had already adopted 65% of WTO requirements.
