Ukraine’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Boris Tarasuk confirmed in Tuesday press conference that two Ukrainians were killed in the fire at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. He reported their bodies were identified.
Two Ukrainian citizens were kept at the Schiphol airport detention centre and when the fire occurred the detained person had no chances to get out.
Tarasuk said that the lost Ukrainian citizens had been kept at the detention centre for one of them having an invalid passport and another expired visa. As he told the journalists, the two Ukrainians were Lviv residents and their bodies will be delivered to the Motherland soon. The Dutch authorities will assume all transportation expenditures.
Exterior Minister mentioned that Ukraine has expected the results of the investigation to lay claims to the Holland authorities with regard to compensation payment to the families of the perished persons.
