“In the current year the debts of economically profitable and active enterprises have increased in 16 regions of Ukraine,” Ivan Sakhan Minister of Labor and Social Policy stated speaking in the selector meeting over the wage problems.
In particular, Sevastopol debts increase by 85%, Kirovograd region – by 61.7%, Rivno region – by 55%, Odessa region – by 49%, Crimea – by 44% and Donetsk, Lviv, Chernigov and other regions included.
Sakhan pointed out 40% of debts fall at economically active enterprises of state corporative and municipal property. The debt payment failed to be done according to the September schedule in all regions of Ukraine.
Sakhan states that the laws of Ukraine regulate the priority of salary payments over other duties of the enterprises. The current debts make UAH 326.5 million ($65.3 million).
The reversions proved the violations of the legislation. “The directors of the enterprises ignore the current legislation and do all their best not to pay wages,” explained Minister of Labor and Social Policy. Such situation is caused by the connivance of the local authorities. But he also remind everybody about personal responsibility before the President of Ukraine for late wages.
