President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko is presiding over a Political Council meeting to discuss a wide range of questions. They are expected to discuss a 2006 draft budget, WTO bills and a candidate for Prosecutor General, the President’s press office reported.

Speaker Volodymir Litvin, Premier Yuri Yekhanurov, Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleg Rybachuk, First Deputy Secretariat Chief of Staff Ivan Vasyunyk, First Deputy Head of the Budget Committee Lyudmyla Suprun, Finance Minister Victor Pinzenyk, Economy Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk, Agrarian Minister Alexander Baranivsky, Industrial Minister Volodymir Shandra and leaders of parliamentary groups and factions are present at the meeting.

The Presidential Political Council is a consultative and advisory body that was founded to establish a dialogue between the Head of State and parliamentary forces. The Council is headed by the President of Ukraine. It consists of leaders of parliamentary groups and factions. The Speaker, the Prime Minister and other politicians are usually invited to take part in council meetings.
