Greece approaches Ukraine to lift the ban on poultry import

Ukraine’s Deputy Chief Veterinary Inspector Vladimir Gorzheyev informed in press conference about Greek approach concerning lifting the ban on import of poultry both live and sub products.

According to him, Greek authorities made a revision which had not prove the existence of bird flu pathogen in Greek territory. “There is no virus and they ask Ukrainian authority to lift the ban,” mentioned Gorzheyev.

Gorzheyev adds that in response to the request the State Veterinary Service intends to lift the ban.

As a reminder on October 17 the State Veterinary Department banned import of Greek poultry to Ukraine.
