Victor Yushchenko met with Parliamentary Speaker Nino Burjanadze of Georgia, President's press office reported.

The Head of State said Ukrainian-Georgian relations were developing quite dynamically: “We are verypleased with our multi-level dialogue.”

The sides noted that economic cooperation between the two countries was obviously more active than before. Since 2004, several economic indexes have increased by 50%, reaching 100% in some industries.

Yushchenko and Burjanadze also spoke about the Year of Georgia in Ukraine and discussed plans to hold the Year of Ukraine in Georgia in 2006.

The Georgian Speaker told the President about measures they were taking to settle the Abkhaz conflict. In his turn, Yushchenko informed his guest about Ukraine’s participation to settle the Trans-dniester conflict.

The sides also touched on cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia in the framework of the GUAM alliance.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk, First Vice Speaker Adam Martynyuk, Ukrainian Ambassador to Georgia Mykola Spys and Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Grygol Katamadze were present at the meeting.
