Pechersky district court of Kyiv decided that information, which was spread by the former Prosecutor General Svyatoslav Piskun about Irog Smeshko’s (ex-chairman of Security Service) involvement in weapon smuggling, does not represent the facts.

The court obliged Piskun to make amends at the amount of two hryvnias (45 cents) to Smeshko for moral damage.

Besides, the court decided that in 15 days, after the legal resolution will come into force, General Office of Public Prosecutor of Ukraine must refute information concerning Smeshko.

As a reminder, June 7 Piskun declared that Smeshko “figured in the case on weapon smuggling.” Prosecutor General refused to report any details at that time.

June 15 Smeshko brought the action against Pikun and appealed to Pechersky court about defense of his honour and dignity.
