Parliamentary faction of Communistic Party of Ukraine supported the draft bill concerning prohibition of Krivorizhstal’s privatization. Privatization of Krivorizhstal steel mill contradicts interests of the country, as the profit from its work must belong to the state, as declared Petro Simonenko, leader of the party.

“The transfer of ‘Krivorizhstal’ management to private hands is an antistate position. Profit from Krivorizhstal production goes to the pocket of a private owner, not to the people,” said Simonenko to journalists.

Vasily Gorbal’, MP of faction of Party of Regions, declared that the party has voted for moratorium on Krivorizhstal privatization because considers the sale of such strategic object inexpedient.

“We have not still heard the professional reasoning of Krivorizhstal sale in this year,” declared Gorbal’.

Grigory Surkis, deputy of SDPU (u) faction, considers that Ukrainian enterprises “should develop with our businessmen.”

“We should not turn our country into a raw materials-producing appendage of strong steel monopolists – Hindus and the French,” underlined Surkis.

According to Surkis, “Krivorizhstal” may be privatized only then, when it is known who will patronize the social sphere.

“When a foreign investor comes, he does not think about social sphere, kindergartens or day nurseries. Hindus came to Eastern Europe, to Poland in particular, bought an enterprise at high price and then closed them. There are about hundred thousand employees in Krivorizhstal. What will happen with these people?” pointed out the deputy.
