Addressing Britain’s leading politicians and businessmen at the Bloomberg News Agency in London, Victor Yushchenko said he would continue to persistently fight corruption “regardless of names and persons.”
In his speech, the Head of State said he was convinced that independent media were among the most efficient means to fight corruption in Ukraine because for the first time in the past fourteen years they were able to cover this subject actively and resonantly. He added that independent courts were alsovital to achieve results, the President's press service informed.
The President said he would demand that law enforcement agencies immediately respond to cases of corruption reported by our citizens but would also insist that these matters should be brought to trial.
The Head of State stressed that, irrespective of many political manipulations, he would not allow anyone to forget this subject.
Yushchenko assured all that corruption would be eradicated in Ukraine.
