A proposal to open a Turkmen Trading House in Kyiv was made when Ukraine's Fuel and Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov and the Naftogaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company's Board chairman Aleksey Ivchenko held talks with Turkmenistan's President Saparmurat Niyazov in Ashgabad.

This proposal by Ukraine was warmly welcomed.

According to Mr. Niyazov, the trading house will offer a broad range of goods.

It was stated that educational, social, and cultural cooperation between Ukraine and Turkmenistan was broadening along with the trade and economic integration between them.

The Ukrainian official's expressed Ukraine's readiness to broaden cooperation with Turkmenistan in the area of training of various specialists for the Turkmen economic sector was raised during the talks with the Turkmen leader.

They proposed holding Days of Turkmen Culture in Ukraine in order to deep Ukrainian-Turkmen cooperation in the humanitarian area.

Details of the opening of the Turkmen Trading House and other aspects of further deepening of cooperation will be discussed when Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov visits Ashgabad on October 26.
